De Wet Du Plessis Attorneys was established in November 2017.  We are located in the heart of the thriving and easily accessible business hub, Century City, Cape Town.

Our firm offers specialist corporate and commercial advisory, civil litigation and mediation services as well as assists with liquor licence applications.

De Wet Du Plessis consists of two dynamic like-minded partners, Matthew De Wet and Annerine Du Plessis. Both partners have very strong ethical convictions which informs the values of the firm which is based on trust, ethics and good old fashioned hard work. Trust is exceptionally important to us. We trust each other as partners and it is essential that our clients trust us to look after them.

We are very personal which means that we will take the time to get to know you and your business, if applicable, which means that when you call us we won’t waste time asking for a reference number or first drawing a file to work out who you are.

Importantly we love what we do and we are good at it. We have each specialised in different areas which means that we are able to look after our clients’ needs holistically.

Corporate, Commercial, Tax

Matthew completed his BCOM LLB at UCT in 2008 after which he worked at Mazars, audit firm, as a tax consultant for 3 years. Matthew left Mazars to do his articles of clerkship in a small law firm and was admitted as an attorney in October 2012. Matthew left that firm to found De Wet Du Plessis Attorneys where he specialises in corporate, commercial and tax matters.

Matthew is married with 2 young children and is very family focussed. Sleep is a luxury at the moment. He is a drummer and still enjoys a good jam now and then. He is also an adrenaline junkie who’s escapades include bungee jumps at Gouritz bridge, Bloukrans (highest in the Southern Hemisphere), Phuket, Thailand and paragliding. All Matthew needs is something high and a go pro.

Litigation, Mediation, Liquor Licenses

Annerine graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 2007 with an LLB degree. She completed her articles of clerkship in 2009 and was admitted an as attorney in February 2010 with right of appearance in the High Court. Annerine met Matthew at a business networking event and immediately connected, finding common ground in many professional aspects. It was only a matter of time before Annerine also left the firm she was working at to found De Wet Du Plessis Attorneys where she specialises in civil litigation, mediation and liquor licences.

Annerine is also married with 2 young children. The Du Plessis clan lives in the middle of the Cape Winelands on a beautiful piece of land from which her family runs a nursery. She loves spending time with her husband and kids. Annerine is passionate about interior design and art which is evident in her home.
